Principal's Message
Dear Parents,

The theme of my news this week is that of giving a helping hand. On Tuesday November 2, in partnership with the Overlake Christian Church, Einstein Elementary will be reinstituting a Homework Club at Avondale Park.  We received a grant from the Lake Washington Schools Foundation to fund the organization and supervision of the evening program.  Emily Moulton, in partnership with Overlake Christian Church volunteers, will provide help and support to students each Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.  The time will be used to assist and tutor students with their homework. We will provide this support for students until early December and hopefully continue again after the first of the year.

As many of you may know, we bring students who need additional help with English language skills in early before the school day starts.  New to our safety net program this year we are also bringing in other students who may need help in math or reading.   We are providing intensive instruction and practice before school starts in the morning therefore not having to pull those students out of class during the instructional day.  The goal is to target different groups of students over the course of the school year, providing  more time for students who need additional help.

Thanks,

Karen Bates, Principal

Northwest Collection Fundraiser - Results Revealed!

The PTSA would like to thank the students, parents, families and staff for supporting our new Fall Fundraiser.  It was a great success with our sales reaching over $9700.00!!  We will net between 40% and 50% of this amount.  The students did a fantastic job of selling and collecting "Snowflakes" for Blizzard, our polar bear.  The winning class, for selling the most items, is Mrs. Stonich's class.  Congratulations!!   Thank you again for supporting our school and your PTSA.
