Dear Parents of JSerra:
We had a delightful presentation and question and answer period on May 7th with our Rector, Fr. Robert Spitzer, S.J., and our new Principal, Dr. John Freeh. It was a very academically inspiring conversation which has set for great enhancements for our upcoming programs.
Fr. Spitzer will be speaking in the Center Room on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 5 p.m. He will discuss proofs of the existence of God through the revelation of modern physics. This is an excellent seminar for adult and students alike. There is no charge, so I hope you can make it.
Since the departure of our past President, the Search Committee of the Board of Directors has been vetting a number of qualified candidates. At this time no candidate acceptable to all constituency has been identified.
I have been serving as Interim CEO, but we will be looking to appoint an Interim President who can oversee the administration of the school while we continue our search for a permanent candidate.
The corporate governance of JSerra involves a series of checks and balances to ensure that the mission of the school is not compromised. The school is committed to its Catholic identity, academic excellence, temporal stewardship, and extracurricular and athletic participation.
The Search Committee is hard at work studying additional candidates from throughout the country. We will keep you posted on the formal appointment of an Interim President, if that occurs, or the finding of a permanent President. I am certain we will be able to accomplish this over the summer months.
In the meantime, we have great leadership in Fr. Robert J. Spitzer S. J. as our Rector, Dr. John Freeh, as our Principal, Eric Stroupe, as our Vice Principal, along with our other fabulous and long-time administration.
The traditions and programs of JSerra will continue to thrive under this and future leadership. We also thank the faculty for their continued patience and support during this period of transition.
JSerra has truly been blessed by many graces.
