CALIFORNIA COASTAL CLEANUP DAY - SATURDAY, SEPT. 17, 2011
Dear friend of the California coast,

We know you care deeply about our coasts and marine environment and hope you will join us for the 2011 Coastal Cleanup Day on Saturday, September 17 from 9 a.m. to noon. There are many ways to help keep our coasts clean, even before trash reaches the ocean. For example, did you know that 80% of the trash that enters the ocean from California comes from sources on land that first reach waterways such as creeks and rivers? So we need just as many volunteers at our inland locations as we do at the beach. To learn more, or for locations and to volunteer, please visit our website.

Please help us keep it clean. This Coastal Cleanup Day, bring your own work gloves and a reusable bag or bucket. If you bring drinking water, please do so in a reusable container to avoid creating additional waste during the event.

Pass this on to family and friends and help us reach our goal of 100,000 volunteers!

Sincerely,

Eben Schwartz, Shannon Waters, and the whole Coastal Cleanup Day Team
