Hello,
With June over and July here, summer is definitely in full swing! With our children together for the first time at sleepaway camp, I've been able to spend time cleaning out closets and creating giveaway piles, and seeing friends and family. I've even enjoyed being more spontaneous (which is NOT easy for me). For example, this past Friday I suggested we detour to the Yankees/Mets game at Citi Field before heading out to eastern Long Island for the July 4th weekend--luckily, my husband was able to buy us last minute tickets. The game was great and the weather pitch perfect. At times, it almost felt like we were on a second honeymoon! (I should be spontaneous more often, shouldn't I?!)
But what makes this summer terrific so far is the fact that we sense our sons are really happy. Phone calls, looking at photos online, and reading their letters make us miss them even more, but we're truly overwhelmed by their enthusiasm and excitement for camp--and that's why e sent them in the first place. (I know that all sounds really sappy, but it's true). And in 11 days, we have Visiting Day and cannot wait! I'd be remiss if I didn't update you about #202040. I successfully completed 20 miles of walking, 20 minutes of abs, and 40 minutes of weight training each week during the month of June. In honor of that, I'm proud to donate $200 to the Weekly Fitness Challenge. (You can learn more about this amazing initiative designed to get us all off the couch right here). As for the rest of the Summer, I plan to continue to walk at least 20 miles and do at least 40 minutes of weight training and abdominal exercises each week and take a few Zumba classes (I took one with a friend last week and it was awesome!). I find setting goals like these helps me stay active, and hopefully inspires some of you who aren't as active as you'd like to be to make your own personal plan to move more. I hope you enjoy this week's ZIED GUIDE. Until next time, Elisa |

How Health Experts Really Eat
When asked what I eat (and how I treat myself), I had no problem sharing--especially when asked by Real Simple, one of my favorite magazines. Check out what I, and several experts, revealed about our own personal eating habits right here.
