Hello all,

I'm sure you're as happy as me that April is finally here! The weather is ever so slowly (but surely) warming up, we're wearing fewer layers, and summer seems to be not so far away after all!

Unfortunately, the idea of showing more skin as the weather warms is not something many women and girls look forward to--especially those who have internal struggles with food, and have negative thoughts about their bodies. To help women and girls feel better about their bods, and overcome negative thoughts about their weight, please read my new ZIED GUIDE post Get (& Stay) Sane About Food & Your Body- Part One where I discuss an empowering new book called Food: The Good Girl's Drug by Redbook's deputy editor, Sunny Sea Gold. The book launches on Tuesday, April 5th, so be sure to check it out!

Some other highlights in this week's newsletter include 2 delicious recipes. You'll also find tips to learn how soon is too soon when it comes to teaching tots about proper portions, and how to make snack time healthy and fun.

And before I forget, here's an update on my April Walk a Marathon Every Week challenge: So far, I've covered 14+ miles (4 on the treadmill and the rest outside.) It's been a fun challenge and really helps me stay focused, plan ahead, and prioritize fitness. I'll continue to post my mileage on Twitter and FB and hope you'll do the same--it's never too late to join me for a virtual walk! Every step you take will count, even if you don't walk the distance of an entire marathon each week.

Hope you all have a terrific, delicious, and active week! Until next time,

Elisa
