Hello all,

Hope you all had a fantastic 2 weeks. I've missed you AND I've missed doing the ZIED GUIDE! My family and I just returned to chilly New York after a glorious week in Palm Beach, Florida. We spent time with family and friends, and did tons of exercise (I walked in the beautiful sunshine every day, talking to friends on the phone and listening to music--some days I walked as much as 6 miles!-- and my boys played hours of football and basketball with friends from home and new friends they made.) I hope that you've enjoyed whatever you've done this past few weeks, and that you took the time to eat well and be fit, laugh, and connect with your family and friends.

In this week's ZIED GUIDE, you'll find 2 delicious recipes from the hot new book Hungry Girl 300 Under 300. You'll also see my new GALTIME video that gives you 4 tips to help you stress eat the smart way (is there such a thing?) I'm also inviting you to walk with me over the month of April to benefit your body and your favorite charity or cause, so please see details below.

Please make this week a great one. As always, I look forward to connecting with you on Facebook and Twitter, so please get in touch!

Walk With Me!

Truth be told, I had planned to walk the Fitness/More half marathon in April. Unfortunately, a friend and I who had planned to do it didn't sign up in time --who knew we'd be shut out so fast! Instead, I decided to recruit others to challenge ourselves to walk an entire marathon over the course of each week over the month of April. I plan to walk 3 to 5 miles a day over the course of each week so that by the end of the month I'll accumulate more than 100 miles. For each mile I walk, I've decided to donate $1 to Live Light, Live Right, an amazing childhood obesity prevention program based in Brooklyn, New York.

Are you up for the challenge? All I ask is that you walk with me "virtually,"and post your progress--and even photos on your journey--with #walkamarathon on Twitter and on Facebook. If you'd like, you too can donate an amount you feel comfortable with to your favorite cause or charity for each mile you walk.

To make the task less daunting, remember EACH AND EVERY STEP YOU TAKE counts towards your total, so be sure to strap on that pedometer or do whatever it will take, rain or shine, indoors or out, to count every step you take. 20 blocks counts as one mile. Do it solo, or grab a friend or even a group of friends to walk. Most importantly, and to avoid injury, be sure to set goals that are healthful and realistic for you. I usually walk at least 20 or more miles a week in nice weather, so this is just a good incentive for me to get outside and chart my progress when weather forces me to be inside for my workouts. Even if you do 1/2 marathon or even less, as long as it's more than your usual walking routine, each and every step you take will not only do your body good, but it will potentially help someone else as well.

Please look for my daily tweets and posts--again with #walkamarathon--throughout the month of April, and join me on the journey!
