Hello all,
On Monday, January 31, the latest version of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans will be unveiled. This set of nutritional and fitness recommendations based on the most up to date scientific info available about nutrition and food will hopefully help Americans fight excess weight, meet their nutrient needs, and prevent diet-related chronic diseases and subsequent disability down the road. Stay tuned, because I (and food and nutrition experts everywhere) will share our take on the new recommendations in days, weeks, months, and years to come. Through the ZIED GUIDE blog and newsletter and through all the work I do (whether in print or on tv), I'll guide you towards improving your food and fitness behaviors each and every day in ways that work for you to help your habits be in line with the new dietary guidelines.
In this week's newsletter, you'll find links to my recent blog post about Experts' Wishes for the Dietary Guidelines (look for a future post in which I'll tell you which wishes came true, and which did not). You'll also see my response to a question about toddlers and vitamins. You'll also hear my thoughts about weight loss on tv, learn which "bad" foods are "good" for you, and see experts' top get healthy tips.
I hope you have a great week! And as always, if you enjoy my newsletter, please pass it on!
