Hello all,

Hope you all had a great week! Mine was exciting both personally and professionally. On Monday morning, I had the soft cast and stitch removed from my left wrist and started therapy (the wrist still hurts, but I'm optimistic I'll be back to normal in no time.) And straight from the doctor's office, I had the wonderful opportunity to serve as a spokesperson for the new got milk? campaign, POUR ONE MORE. Through dozens of tv and radio interviews (including a short one on Good Morning America), and a presentation (that was streamed live on facebook on 1/11/11), I discussed the new report, What American's Missing, that shows most of us don't get enough of the key nutrients we need to keep us healthy. The new campaign, POUR ONE MORE, shows Americans how having one extra serving of milk each day can help fill some of those nutrient gaps. The campaign is also helping to raise money for Feeding America, the country's largest network of food banks. I also helped unveil the newest celebrity to wear that famous milk mustache--Susan Sarandon. You can find some links about this amazing campaign below.

I'm also delighted to share a delicious recipe for NACHO AVERAGE NACHOS from Aviva Goldfarb. You'll also find tips for how to make healthier kitchen swaps and stock a more healthful pantry.

Enjoy!

Elisa

It's Healthy Weight Week!

I hope you celebrate this next week by nurturing your body, mind, and spirit by eating well and mindfully, cutting yourself some slack when you eat too much or have something you think you "shouldn't" eat, and getting rid of guilt when it comes to food. I also hope you find some time--even a few 10 minute blocks--to play a sport, do some exercise (even a simple, brisk walk counts!) or do some other type of activity. I also hope you start or continue to talk to yourself and others in a positive, affirming way. This can go a long way towards helping you and others achieve and maintain a healthy weight for life. Click here for more information about healthy weight week.
