Greetings!

Hope you all had a fantastic and active week with friends and family! This week's newsletter is packed with info about lentils and why they're so healthful; my family likes them best simply served inside a warmed flour tortilla topped with some shredded cheddar. For those of you who don't eat 3 cups of legumes (dry beans) per week as recommended in current Dietary Guidelines for Americans and need a lentilvention, you'll also find a great recipe for kale and lentil soup.

You'll also learn why more fiber may not always be better, and find out if fresh is really better when it comes to choosing vegetables.

If you enjoy reading the Zied Guide, please pass it on to a friend, colleague, or family member. As always, thank you so much for your continued support!

Everything's Coming Up Lentils!

Lentils are among many unsung nutritional heroes. Read more about their nutritional benefits, and why they--alongside other legumes--should be part of your weekly diet. You'll also find a fabulous lentil recipe from the terrific book 101 Foods That Could Save Your Life by David Grotto, RD, LDN.
Can You Get TOO Much Fiber?

While most of us fall short on fiber, countless fiber-infused foods now available at grocery, health food, and specialty stores nationwide make it possible for us to overload on this otherwise good stuff. Read more here.

Fresh vs. Frozen: The Veggie Debate
