Greetings!
Hope you all had a fantastic weekend. With temperatures falling steadily, and the holidays approaching, you're probably getting in the mood for some comfort food. That's why I'm excited to share two terrific pumpkin recipes from a brand new cookbook, No Whine with Dinner--one for a spicy bundt cake, and one for a chocolaty bar. These desserts sucessfully pair great taste with key nutrients (so you really can have your cake--or bar--and eat it too)! If you still have some leftover candy and are in the midst of a Halloween hangover, or feel just a little bit more bloated than usual, be sure to check out my latest caloriecount.com blog post, Beat Water Weight Gain. And if you're desperately trying to manage that sweet tooth and eat healthfully as much as possible to avoid winter weight gain (and the blahs that go along with that!), you'll find out some favorite snack picks of top food and nutrition experts, trainers, and bestselling authors; they just may give you some ideas to feed yourself or your family more healthfully mid-morning, after school or work, or late at night when you just need a little something. I'm thrilled to announce that Nutrition At Your Fingertips won a Best Books 2010 Award (sponsored by USA Book News) in the Health: Medical Reference category (it was also a finalist in the Health: Diet and Weight Loss category). I'm quite proud of my little penguin! Last but not least, this upcoming Saturday, I'm headed to Boston for the American Dietetic Association's annual Food and Nutrition Conference; while The ZIED GUIDE ™ newsletter will be off next week, it returns the week of November 15th. Be sure to check out my tweets and facebook posts throughout this next week for highlights from the conference. Enjoy your week! Elisa
