Special Club Information

Dear  :

This week our Club is involved in two very important events.  The first is an international "hands-on" project, marking our Club's first in several years.  Members of our Club, including Steve Reiter, Robin Smith and twin brother Robert, Past President Drew Levy and his wife Debbie, Rob Goldstein and our Lady in Waiting Linda Bertuzzi, will be travelling to Tecate, Mexico, just over the US border on May 15 to assist other members of Rotary International District 5300 in the construction of two new homes for deserving families in this small village.   This is an annual event sponsored by District 5300 in partnership with Corazon, Inc, a California non-profit dedicated to the building of homes in Mexico.  Corazon is Spanish for "Heart" and our hearts  will go with our Rotary Family members to Tecate - keeping them in our prayers for a safe journey and return to Las Vegas.  This is an incredible event and one that we are anxious to see pictures of and hear details about upon their return.  For more information, go to

Tomorrow night, May 11, is an unexpected benefit for our Club's Foundation.  It is the National launch of local author Deborah Coonts first novel, "Wanna Get Lucky?", published by Forge Books - a delightful love story coupled with a murder mystery set at  the mythical Babylon  mega casino on the Las Vegas Strip.  At Deborah's request all proceeds from the donations for an autographed copy of her book will be donated to our Foundation for the refurbishing of the Reading Room at the Agassi Boys and Girls Club in Las Vegas.  Each and every member of our Club has received a personal invitation to this event to be held at Sedona, 9580 W Flamingo, Las Vegas, NV, from 5:30 p.m. to ???.  PLEASE make an effort to attend this once in a lifetime opportunity with your spouses, significant others and children.  Our Club is incredibly LUCKY to be the beneficiary of Deborah's generosity.  Let's thank her in person!   See more about Deborah at Deborah Coonts - Wanna Get Lucky?

Last Week's Program - Dr. Roger R. Elmer DC

Our Club has enjoyed a previous presentation by Dr Elmer, who has been a Chiropractic Physician for more than 20 years.   His previous presentation focused on healthier food choices, taking time to enjoy our meals and spending a few moments in  silence each day to counter the stress we are subjected to every day.

His visit this time focused on Stress.  He told us stress is good - it is vital to the body - the more you handle the stronger you become.  Most of the time "worry is faith in what you don't want to happen."The most important thing is to deal the issues causing the worry and get the problem behind you as soon as you can.  The consequences of avoidance can lead to physical and mental health problems.  Learn to do physical exercise, practice relaxation exercises and take mental breaks to counter the effects of stress and improve your health.

If you would like more information on Dr. Elmer, please visit his website at  Advanced Spinal Solutions

A SPECIAL thank you to Deborah Coonts for also visiting our Club and offering a special invitation to this Tuesday's special event at Sedona benefiting our Foundation.  Also, to Susan Johnson of the Green Valley Ranch who provided us with further details and sign up information for the June 10th Golf Tourny for District Conference in Green Valley.   If you have any questions on the Golf Tourny or District Conference, please go to District Conference
