Dear  :

We have reached a critical point in our Rotary year.  There are two issues we need to address immediately.  First, we need to fill out our committees and Committee Chairs in order to fulfill the obligations that are part of being a successful Rotary Club.  We have a great club and one that all of us can be proud of.  We have successful projects, both hands on and those financially supported.  We need however, to have each and every member commit to being a member of a committee or, Chair of a committee.  If you are not currently fulfilling one of those roles, please take a look at the list you will have already received by the time you read this, and pick a committee that suits your time, and desires.  If you don't, you will be asked to part of a committee or to chair one.  I would like to see this done between now and the time our esteemed District Governor visits us on November 10th.
The other issue we need to address is that of next year's Board of Directors.  We have successfully made the transition to the new Club Leadership Plan with the exceptions noted above as to filling all levels of committees.  We will need a President Elect, also.  Start thinking right now about how YOU can help your Rotary Club.  We can't do it without you, but we can be very successful with YOU.  It is time to stand up and be counted.  All of us have families, jobs and commitments.  I'm not asking you to give any of that up, but to help us as much as you can by being a vibrant and active part of this club.  Please don't be a RINO, (Rotarian In Name Only), or a knife and forker who says, I wrote a check, that's all I need to do.  I've given my share.  Money is important, but your participation is more important.  DO YOUR SHARE!

Programs

This week we welcome District 5300 Governor Tom Novotny for his official visit to our Club.  District Governor Nominee Roger Schulte, Executive Assistant Governor, Southern Nevada Jeff Manna, Group 11 Assistant Governor Robert Bridel, and Executive Aide to the District Governor Christine Smith will accompany District Governor Novotny.

Next Tuesday, November 17, is our Club's biggest event of the year - THANKSGIVING FOR THE KIDS AT BOOKER ELEMENTARY.  Confirmation of all details will be announced at the meeting this week.  Booker is always an amazing Rotary experience - please bring a future Rotarian and let them see how little time it takes to put a smile on the children's faces.

We will be dark on November 24th.

SPECIAL NOTE - We received this message from Rafael Castillo who visited our Club two weeks ago:

 November Birthday Club Reminder

This month's Birthday Club at the Agassi Boys and Girls Club is scheduled for November 18.  We need a Captain (who has a birthday this month?) to make sure we have the usual cake, ice cream, utensils and gifts for the kids.

If you haven't attended one of these parties, try and make it this month.  The party lasts a little over an hour, and everyone  really enjoys the experience.

To our members:

We are now fully operational with our newsletter site - and able to provide a more visual view of our Club with increased photos and columns.  The layout will improve as we continue to learn the software.  This is YOUR newsletter - if you want to see additional information, please send it in.  Club Chairs, please feel free to write an article periodically, especially if we have an upcoming event you would like to have brought the attention of all our readers.  Lawrence Ocon, you are next week's captain - in addition to providing our weekly team line-up, you will have the opportunity to write a brief re-cap of the meeting.  Marilene - your article was terrific and just what we are looking for.  Let's tell everyone what a great Club we have - get the word out.

Last, but not least, from your Membership Committee - PLEASE BRING A FUTURE ROTARIAN to the next luncheon.
