Greetings!
Do you drink enough water? Do you really? Most common signs of dehydration are fatigue, aches and pains, dark urine, dry skin or a sluggish digestion.
We can go weeks without food, but only one day without water can get you into serious trouble. Water is the second most important requirement for the body, after air. Our body is made of over 70% water. Water is essential for our digestion, blood flow, brain and healthy cell function. A fresh supply is needed each day since we loose 2,5L of water daily through perspiration, urine, stools and water vapor through the lungs. Our brain is made up of 95% water, our blood is 82% water and lungs 90% water. Only a 2% drop in our body's water supply can cause signs of dehydration such as: fuzzy memory, trouble focusing, headache and fatigue. An estimated 75% of Americans suffer from chronic dehydration. A scary statistic for a developed country, where water is easily available.
Water tips:
- Refresh it with some sliced lime, orange, cucumber or mint leaves.
- 1/4 of a teaspoon of the mineral rich Himalayan Crystal salt in your big water bottle helps to instantly refill your electrolyte levels after a work out.
- Drink room temperature water in bigger quantities as it is better for your system than drinking ice water.
- Start with a big glass of water first thing in the morning and drink through out the day between meals.
- Help your body detox periodically by sipping on hot water every ten minutes through out the morning/day.
- Use a refillable glass bottle as certain plastic bottles may leak harmful chemicals into the water.
- Drink purified water when possible as tap water is often filled with contaminants, pharmaceuticals and disinfection byproducts. Use a high quality filter at home certified by a reputable independent water certification agency like NSF (National Sanitation Foundation).
- Do not wait to be thirsty, drink in between and before meals, most people are chronically dehydrated.
Make
drinking water a priority for the next week and see if you feel any
difference in your energy levels, skin complexion, digestion and
metabolism.
Have a refreshing and hydrating fall!

Unhealthy habits can be hard to break and may require that we constantly feed our minds with positive and empowering thoughts and information. Like Norman Vincent Peale said "Repetition of the same thought or physical action develops into a habit which, repeated frequently enough, becomes an automatic reflex".
We want you to develop the healthiest habits possible and love your transformation in the progress!
