Greetings!
As we transition from spring to summer, I find myself feeling lucky, really lucky. Everyone in my family is healthy and happy. We even have two new members at our monthly family dinners, as my cousin and his wife have just moved to the area from Taiwan. This is the first time that my husband and I have met them - they're super nice and a welcome addition to our family gatherings! My niece and nephew grow bigger and cuter (is that even possible?), and I continue to be super busy. As we've moved into spring and summer, it's become family portrait season, so I've been doing a lot of portrait sessions among the spring flowers, and this quarter is even busier for me with more weddings. Plus, I find myself doing more and more teaching, in terms of both private one-on-one photography lessons, as well as group workshops. Read more about all of it below! |

I'm still working on posting the remainder of my existing collections - it's a lot of work! You know, I've been so busy this quarter with commercial shoots, teaching, and launching my new image archive & fine art photography site that I haven't had a whole lot of time to create new fine art photography or stock photography. But I did get off a few images of the Washington National Cathedral, Franciscan Monastery, and Memorial Day at the Arlington National Cemetery. Check out the new releases here.

PRIVATE PHOTOGRAPHY LESSONS & GROUP WORKSHOPS
The workshop got rave reviews, which has led me to launch a series of group workshops, including my upcoming July 5th 1/2-day workshop on Photographing the DC Memorials from Evening to Night. I'm super-excited about this DC Memorials workshop. We'll start out at the Lincoln Memorial and end at the World War II Memorial, hitting the FDR and Jefferson Memorials, as we make our way around the Tidal Basin. Our objective? To explore the infite possibilities of artistic vision through two global projects.
In the first global project, each student will self-assign him/herself one of the following projects - wide angle vs. telephoto, depth of field, movement, or composition - completing all four projects by the end of the workshop. In the second global project, each student will select from: time lapse, painting with light, high dynamic range, or panorama. So students can gather images for the second global project either from a single memorial or from all the memorials.
If you can't make this date, but are interested in my workshop series, send me an e-mail so that I can start getting an idea of your experience level and what you're interested in. Based on this kind of information, I match students together and make sure to find a date that works for everyone who has pre-expressed interest. Those people get first dibs at registration; only if there is space after that do I open up the workshop for general registration. So do let me know if you're interested! I also plan to offer a series of beginning level workshops, where I can set aside time to go through the fundamentals. And of course, I also teach private photography lessons, which is a great way to get the fundamentals down through one-on-one instruction before jumping into the workshop track.
And, I can't resist but to point out one final, but particularly notable post: My new Black Rapid Double Camera Strap and Me. Since I'm usually the one behind the camera, I have to admit that I don't have very many photos of myself. So I'm awfully pleased with my modeling session with my new camera strap. Kudos to my husband for the great photos!
