Olympic and Jubilee Fun

Thousands of people turned up to see the Olympic Flame pass through Shurdington and the Bath Road on 23rd May and everyone had a great time. With miles of bunting and lots of organised festivities we thought the
Bath Road traders did a great job.

Unfortunately the Hullaballoo Festival that we were meant to be involved with  over the Jubilee weekend was cancelled due to the weather. It did mean that we all got to watch the (very damp) pageant though!

Recent events

In May the Skillspace group held a successful 'show and tell' evening where a number of members spoke about their interests, from Turkish culture to supporting rescue dogs. We plan to hold another similar event later in the year. If you're interested in attending or speaking please contact Belinda on belinda@cheltenhamconnect.co.uk

Almost 50 people came along to our May quiz at the Brown Jug. The top prize of Portuguese wine from Cheltenham-based Ken Sheather Wines went to a team which formed on the evening, with chocolates for the runners-up and sweets to cheer up the team with the lowest score. We also held a raffle to raise funds for Cheltenham Connect, with prizes kindly donated by local businesses.
