Senior Design Presentations

Senior Design is the capstone experience for all Computer Science and Software Engineering majors in senior year. Student teams create a project developed by CS faculty or external stakeholders and present the final product at the end of spring term. All students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend the final presentations. To view this year's projects, click here

Save the date: Final Four Presentations
The final four teams will face-off for the chance to enter College of Engineering's competition. Students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend the competition Tuesday, May 22, in Papadakis ISB auditorium (room 120) between 6-9:30 p.m. Dinner will be available between 5-6 p.m.

Current Drexel co-ops and recent alum working at Johnson & Johnson will be discussing their experiences in a panel format. Students can enjoy light refreshments and networking with representatives from Johnson & Johnson. Students will learn about Johnson & Johnson, have an opportunity to ask questions, and have multiple chances to win prizes. Computer science majors are strongly encouraged to attend. IGDA Philadelphia May Meeting
Saturday, May 12

Drexel Game Design Developers Group (DGDG) is hosting the International Game Developers Association (IGDA) Philadelphia meeting and it's open to the public. Socializing and networking will begin at 4:45 p.m., followed by opening remarks and presentations. The featured talk is "Indie Marketing 101: The Right (and Wrong Ways) to Market Your Indie Game" by Mike Gnade, founder of the Indie Game Magazine. RSVPs are not required but recommended. Join Keith Ayers, graduating senior and former president of Drexel Game Developers Group (DGDG), as he shows some of the useful tips and tricks in Unity he's learned at Drexel.

It's been a few years since the department's held the annual CS BBQ, plus the student vs. faculty kayak race, at Professor Jeff Salvage's house in Medford, NJ. Students, faculty, and staff are all invited to this year's BBQ. Food and nonalcoholic beverages will be provided. Please do not bring alcohol. DGDG: Simple Game Art

Sometimes when a game development team comes together and pools their skills, basic artistic abilities aren't always on the list. Join Logan Moloshok and Matt Lesnak, members of Drexel Game Developers Group (DGDG)as they show the basics of some simple game art, what people typically use in the industry and why, and some tips and tricks that can save a lot of time and hassle. Nothing can replace a good artist, but if you had to make basic game art, could you? DGDG aims to help.

WiCS Panel Discussion and Dinner

All students (male and female) are invited to join Drexel's Women in Computing Society (WiCS) for a special Alumni Panel and Dinner. WiCS, in conjunction with the Math and Computing Society (MCS), Upsilon Pi Epsilon (UPE),The iSchool at Drexel and the Department of Computer Science, has gathered a group of Drexel computing and technology alumni to share information about careers, academics, and beyond. Panelists will speak with students about their experiences in the computing and technology workforce, answer questions about career and educational experiences, and provide advice and tips about academics (such as recommended classes), job searches, interviews, and more. Course Withdraw Deadline (Spring term) 

If you plan on withdrawing from a course, you must get an add/drop/withdraw form signed by your instructor and advisor (as well as co-op coordinator if you are currently on co-op). Then bring it to SRC (Main Building, Room 222) to be processed. The withdraw deadline is Friday, May 11 at 5 p.m.

Registration

Summer registration opens up May 7, 2012; however, depending on your classification, you may have a different registration date than other students. Your specific date will be listed below:

  • Athletes/ROTC/Performing Arts - May 7
  • Graduating graduate students - May 7
  • Matriculated graduate students - May 8
  • Graduating seniors - May 10
  • Continuing seniors - May 14
  • Honors - May 16
  • Juniors - May 17
  • Pre-Juniors - May 22

  • Freshman - May 30 

Note: Students on co-op cannot be added to classes until the week before the term starts. DGDG Gaming Hoodies for Sale
Drexel Game Developers Group (DGDG) is having a fundraiser! Help raise awareness of DGDG and show of your inner geek with Drexel Game Developers Group zip-up hoodies! They come in sizes SM to XL, featuring the name on the front and the newest DGDG logo on the back, both designed by our good friend and previous DGDG officer Kevin Sheehan. Due to confusing budget issues, we NEED to sell all our hoodies at barely above cost at $45 per hoodie. Need help with classes? Visit the Cyber Learning Center
The Cyber Learning Center (CLC) provides consulting and other learning resources for students taking computer science classes. It's staffed by graduate and undergraduate students employed by the CS Department. Students can receive help during office hours (drop-in or by appointment). Services include review sessions for exams, small group study sessions, homework/lab help, and a mini-library. 
Hours 
  • Mondays - Wednesdays: 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Thursdays: 1 to 5 p.m.
  • Friday: CLOSED
The hours for CS 121 and 122 are held on the odd weeks of the term, beginning on week 3 (weeks 3, 5, 7, and 9).

Drexel Farmers Market

Tuesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The Drexel Farmers Market is now in its fourth year, Drexel Business Services is proud to feature the weekly offering of fresh vegetables and fruit to the campus community. Due to the construction on Chestnut Square, the Farmers Market will be located at 33rd and Market Streets at the Dragon Statue. The market provides the Drexel community with the opportunity to purchase fresh and locally grown food from King's Dutch Country Goods. A variety of fruits, vegetables, baked goods, canned and preserved fruits and vegetables, cheeses as well as yogurt are offered.
