Digital Games: Teaching, Learning and Assessment Seminar Series
Tuesday, January 25 7 to 8:30 p.m. Mitchell Auditorium, Bossone Research Center The Drexel's School of Education will launch its second seminar in the four-part "Digital Games: Teaching, Learning and Assessment Seminar Series" with Dr. Punya Mishra, a professor at Michigan State University. The topic for this event is "Using TPACK for Game Assessment and Design." The seminar will focus on using Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework, its multi-dimensional use, how it works in a framework, how it may be used in assessments for games and virtural worlds for learning and the implications of TPACK for teacher education and the use of games. Workshop: Writing Personal Statements for Scholarship, Fellowship and Graduate Applications
Thursday, January 27 4 to 5:30 p.m. MacAlister Hall, room 0032 The Drexel Writing Center and the Fellowships Office will co-sponsor a workshop designed to introduce students to personal statement writing. Personal statements may be the most important part of fellowship and graduate school applications. In this workshop students will learn how to use the personal statement to present a compelling snapshot of their goals and accomplishments. Attention Seniors: If you are planning on graduating this June you must go on to DrexelOne and fill out the Application for Degree form by February 18th. From the "Student" tab, you should go to "More Bannerweb Student Records" and then "Apply for your Degree". Remember if you are a BSMS student, you should apply for both your BS & MS degrees.
If you are within a total of 20 credits of completing your degree requirements (after Spring) and they will be completed by the end of the Summer/Fall term, you may be eligible to walk at graduation. Please see Andrea Negro for details.

Need help with classes? Visit the Cyber Learning Center
The Cyber Learning Center (CLC) provides consulting and other learning resources for students taking computer science classes. It's staffed by graduate and undergraduate students employed by the CS Department. Students can receive help during office hours (drop-in or by appointment). Services include review sessions for exams, small group study sessions, homework/lab help, and a mini-library.Hours: Monday 1-8 p.m., Tuesday 1-9 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday 1-6 p.m. For the CS 121 and 122 courses, office hours only on weeks 3, 5, 7 and 9, as follows: Monday 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Tuesday-Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Volunteers Needed for Philly's FIRST LEGO League Championship Tournament

University of Pennsylvania, Irvine Auditorium
Volunteers are needed to judge the Philadelphia FIRST LEGO League Championship Tournament. There are up to 50 teams registered to compete from the Philadelphia region. Teams will be judged on robot design, presentations, spirit, sportsmanship, and teamwork. More information will be provided upon your confirmation as a judge. This is a great opportunity for Drexel students to help on this event, especially engineering majors. For more information please contact Velda Morris. |
