Apple iPhone Development Guest Speaker
Tuesday, July 20

The Department of Computer Science in conjunction with The Drexel Replay Program will be hosting Steve Hayman, a software engineer with the Apple iPhone Group. Steve will give a talk on iPhone development. The presentation will be followed by a question and answer session with Steve. Get answers to all the things you wanted know about developing on the iPhone!
DGDG hosts Lindsay Lindstrom, Microsoft

Drexel Game Developers Group (DGDG) hosts Microsoft's Lindsay Lindstrom. Lindsay will discuss XNA, a game developer platform that allows you to develop games for the Xbox 360, Windows, and the forthcoming Windows Phone 7. The discussion will also include how to create a game and how to sell your XBox 360 and Windows Phone 7 games for some extra cash, as well as Imagine Cup and how you can help solve world problems with video games. WiCS: Grace Hopper Informational Session

The Women in Computing Society (WiCS) will be holding an information session about the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing. The conference will be held Sept. 28-Oct. 2, 2010 in Atlanta, GA.
GHC is designed to bring the research and career interests of women in computing to the forefront. Presenters are leaders in their respective fields, representing industrial, academic and government communities. Leading researchers present their current work, while special sessions focus on the role of women in today's technology fields, including computer science, information technology, research and engineering.

Note to CS (BS) students:
When registering, make sure that you review the elective list when you choose your courses, especially Writing/Communications electives.  If you take a course that is not on that list, it will not count.

CoE searching for new Peer Mentors
Applications due August 6, 2010
Become a peer mentor today and help incoming and current engineering students by providing them with resources, support and information. Make a difference in the lives of engineering students, meet new people, build your resume, gain leadership experience, and learn skills that will help you be successful after college.

International Co-op Opportunities
Canada, Italy & India
Fall and Winter
The Steinbright Career Development Center (SCDC) currently has co-op opportunities in Canada, Italy and India for the coming fall and winter. For all positions a salary or stipend is available and the SCDC will offer assistance in locating housing and acquiring visas.
A communications and marketing assistant position is available at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada. The main focus of the position will be working in the Simon Fraser co-op office on its international portfolio.
A position within theItalian Parliament in Rome is available for students who are conversational in Italian (fluency is not required). Some key responsibilities include monitoring and reporting on committee meetings and drafting responses to constituent inquiries.
Other opportunities in Italy include one for biomedical engineers with the Instituto Scientifico "Eugenio Medea." Another position with a software company looking for a Java programmer is also available.
Mysis in Bangalore, India, has a position for someone with Java/J2EE training and/or experience to work on its finance product.
