Senior Design team MVP wins CS Final Competition
Team Mashup Visual Programming (MVP) Environment won the Department of Computer Science's Eighth Annual Outstanding Senior Project Competition, May 25, 2010. MVP team members Tim Cheeseman, Dan DeSousa, Jordan Osecki, Martin Piecyk and Ngoc Nguyen, created a visual programming environment that allows users to quickly create, compile, and run "mashups" (electronic files that combine data from multiple media sources). The graphical user interface provides the option for multi-touch input. Team MVP competed in the College of Engineering's Senior Design Competition, Wednesday, June 2, joining seven groups representing their respective departments, and received an honorable mention. Note from the Department Head |
This second Alumni e-Newsletter continues our efforts to connect and inform our alumni. Recent highlights from the Department include hosting a symposium honoring Shafi Goldwasser, co-inventor of zero-knowledge proofs and a major contributor to cryptography and complexity theory, and the 3rd ranked gaming program in North America by The Princeton Review. This is the time of the year where we congratulate a new graduating class (Commencement is Friday, June 11) and introduce our newest alumni. This year's Commencement includes the first graduating class from our off-campus degree completion program at Burlington County College. The accomplishments of our seniors can be seen in their recently completed senior design project.
