What Parents Should Know About Parking
| |
Foote's Canner Street parking lot is reserved for faculty and staff. Please do not park in the lot or the drop-off circle.
We also ask parents to honor the "Handicapped Parking Only" signs on the residential side of Loomis Place and to never park cars in residential driveways; Foote places traffic cones on the residential side of Loomis Place so neighborhood residents may enter and exit their driveways or park in their "on-street" spots. Please do not move the cones.

Grandparents Day Updates
|
Grandparents Day invitations have been sent to many Foote grandparents and some special friends for those whose grandparents cannot attend. On Fri., Oct. 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., grandparents are invited to visit grandchildren's classes, take a minicourse or school tour, and enjoy an All School Assembly.
Invitations If you'd like to invite a special friend or you didn't include grandparents' addresses on the student information form in your summer packet, please send the information to Maria Granquist in the Development Office, and we'll send an invitation directly. Please encourage your child's guests to RSVP early so we can prepare a schedule for their visit. Since we anticipate that more than 400 grandparents will attend, we cannot accommodate parent visitors to classes that day. Everyone is welcome at the assembly, of course! Please Volunteer Volunteers are needed on Grandparents Day to make the event run smoothly. Whether you can spare a few hours or the whole morning, we would appreciate your assistance welcoming grandparents, leading them to classes, arranging refreshments, and a host of other tasks. We'll hold an orientation session for anyone who would like to know more about the campus. And if October 12 isn't a good day for you to volunteer, please come to help set up in the Hosley Gym on Thurs., Oct. 11, between 12:30 and 3 p.m.
E-mail Amy Caplan if you are able to volunteer. It's a wonderful occasion, and you will enjoy being part of making it happen!

Yali Delegation Visits Foote Sept. 25-Sept. 29
| |
This year's Yali delegation, comprising 19 girls, nine boys, two teachers and one principal, will arrive Tues., Sept. 25, on the Foote campus. Besides tours of the campus, field trips, and visits to New Haven landmarks, the Yali students spend time in Foote classrooms. The experience is based on our motto, Gladly will I learn and gladly teach. The Yali students teach the class something simple from China; in return, Foote students teach our Chinese guests something simple from the United States.
An All School Assembly for the Yali delegation will be held at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27.
