A DAY IN THE LIFE OF FOOTE

Learning About Egypt
Each year, Foote fifth graders take part in Egypt Immersion Day, which this year fell on Tues., Feb. 27, with sunny, springlike weather that comfortably enabled students to tote a pharaoh around school grounds. Students wore costumes from historical Egypt, shared traditional Egyptian foods in a sumptuous banquet, and engaged in challenges that demanded ingenuity, critical thinking skills, and resourcefulness.

Worldly Words of Insight, Before a Trip to China

As Foote ninth graders prepare to depart for China this weekend, they enjoyed a visit on Wednesday from David Tam '08, a Yale freshman whose family moved to Hong Kong after he graduated from Foote. David attended an international school in Hong Kong, and he shared some of the differences between Hong Kong and mainland China, chief among them that Hong Kong is far more cosmopolitan than anywhere on the mainland.
