Grandparents Day is Friday!

Registration: 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. in the Hosley Gym.

Parking: look for Foote staff in green fluorescent vests. They will be on hand to direct traffic.

Parents who are driving grandparents to Grandparents Day are asked to drop their passengers off due to parking concerns.

Parent volunteers will receive an email the evening of Thurs., Oct. 13, with parking information.

The Canner Street and Highland Street lots, as well as the school side of Loomis Place, are available for parking for grandparents. Please do not park on the other side of Loomis Place. It is reserved for the residents.

Note: Grandparents who have indicated that they have special needs have been contacted directly.

A reminder about suitable dress - This is the one All School Assembly at which students sit on the floor, so girls may be more comfortable in pants. (No jeans please.) If the weather is chilly and damp, students may want to bring a sweatshirt or sweater to sit on. If you have questions, please review the Assembly Dress Guidelines shared in last week's e-news.

Please email Maria Granquist in the Development Office or call 203-777-3464 ext. 209 with any questions you may have.

blocks.jpg A Visit from Our Architect

Architect Maryann Thompson, principal of Maryann Thompson Architects of Cambridge, Mass., and Martha Foss, the firm's project manager, spent the day at Foote on Wed., Oct. 12. Thompson showed a Powerpoint explaining her vision for the Jonathan Milikowsky Science and Technology Building to parents at a morning PTC meeting. She visited classes and also met with members of Foote's Environmental Action Group. Later in the afternoon, in Katy Botta's kindergarten class, Thompson spoke to students, then viewed their architectural creations.

Testing Information for Parents of 6th, 7th, and 8th Graders

Students in grades 6-8 will be taking the CTP 4 (ERBs) during the mornings of November 3 and 4. The CTP 4 measures achievement and reasoning ability in various areas in math and language arts.

We administer these tests primarily to provide practice for our students who intend to take the ISEE or the SSAT as part of an application to independent secondary schools those who will take standardized tests in public high school. The CTP 4 is not a criterion for admission to secondary school.

Please click here for more information and the test schedules.
