| A Visit from Yali Middle School |
Twenty-three students and three teacher chaperones from Yali Middle School in Changsha, China, arrived on campus Tuesday morning, sharing their culture with all they met, and absorbing American culture through lessons in the classrooms, visits to New Haven landmarks and Mystic Aquarium, dining at popular restaurants and host families' homes, apple picking at Bishop's Orchard, time at Hammonasset Beach, a trip to St. Ann's Soup Kitchen and a tour of Yale.

Sharing Cultures
|
A highlight of the Yali Middle School visit was a cultural exchange project based on The Foote School motto, "Gladly will I learn and gladly teach."
After introductions by his/her ninth grade buddy, each Yali student shared a cultural pastime or tradition with a class of Foote students; the Foote students then taught a favorite game or pastime to their Chinese guests.
Foote will bid farewell to the Chinese delegation with a dinner tonight in the Hosley Gym. An outing to a local bowling alley will follow.
