"...mature soft tannins..."

"Beginning Tuesday, we will be sampling the 2008 Gehringer Brothers Private Reserve Pinot Noir ($14.99). This is made with extended carbonic maceration to extract all of the fruit flavours. This wine shows subtle fruit in the bouquet and mature soft tannins. Hints of black cherry & berries are evident throughout this lightly oaked wine.  See You Here!

Weekend Tasting!!
Arrowleaf Cellars!!

2010-07-22 WE

"...Gold at the 2010 Northwest Wine Summit..."

"Join us this Saturday from 2 till 5 pm as we welcome Margrit Zuppiger of Arrowleaf Cellars. In 1996, Joe and Margrit purchased the Suncrest Vineyard in Okanagan Centre with the goal of starting a winery.  Their son Manuel went back to Switzerland to train as a winemaker and now makes the wines at Arrowleaf. Arrowleaf officially opened its doors in the spring of 2003 with its first vintages of 2001 reds and 2002 whites.

We will begin with the 2008 Pinot Gris ($15.99). This has ripe apple, pear, peach and delicate floral aromas. It's complex and full-bodied with refreshing acidity.

Next is the 2008 Bacchus ($14.99). Bacchus is a Riesling x Sylvaner x Mueller-Thurgau cross that produces lively, aromatic wines that are naturally low in alcohol. This shows fresh, floral, lively citrus and peach aromas and is crisp, off-dry and very flavourful on the palate. A great Summer Sipper!

The New 2008 First Crush Red ($14.99) is up next. This is a blend of mostly Pinot Noir with some Merlot and Lemberger added for structure and color. It has cherry, plum and raspberry aromas with light spice and peppery undertones. It is medium bodied and smooth on the palate with sweet fruit flavours lingering on the finish.

Finally we will sample the 2007 Pinot Noir ($17.99). This has raspberry, strawberry, cherry and violet aromas with spicy, smoky undertones.  It's a delicate, medium bodied red wine with smooth tannins. This wine won Gold at the 2010 Northwest Wine Summit, and Silver at the 2010 All-Canadian Wine Championships!
