Weekend - Rosés!! Midweek - OKV Select Red!! Great New Wines!!
|
|
Greetings!
Time to get ready for Father's Day over the weekend! Get the grill out and get that patio scrubbed down! And what better way to celebrate Father's Day than opening up a bottle of BC VQA wine?
This week, we'll be doing our annual summer BBQ starter Rosé tasting. It's that perfect summer sipper on the patio and goes great with all those salads and bbq foods~
Cheers, Simon Chang & the gang @ BWC

Weekend Tasting!!
Rosés!! "...served cool
but not cold and are surprisingly food friendly..."
"Join us this
weekend for our annual Rosé Tasting!!! Most Rosés are made by pressing the
grapes and then removing the skins (which contain the colour - most grape juice
is clear) as soon as the desired tint has been achieved. Another method is by
simply blending red and white wines together. Rosé wines should be served cool
but not cold and are surprisingly food friendly.
We will begin with
the 2009 Quails' Gate Rosé ($14.99). This Rosé is made with 100% Gamay Noir
grapes grown in the Estate vineyards on the Boucherie Bench. Rhubarb-strawberry
and red current aromas come together in this fresh, fruity and creamy textured
wine.
The 2009 St
Hubertus Fizzante Rosé ($15.03) is next. This slightly sparkling wine shows
flavours of strawberries, spices, cranberries and cream. The very light sparkle
gives it a nice fresh quality.
Gray Monk's 2008
Rotberger ($15.99) shows spice, raspberry and currant aromas, leading to
flavours of spiced cherries and cranberries which linger on the lively finish.
This is one of the more full bodied of the Rosés.
Next is the 2009 Dirty Laundry Hush ($18.99). This
wine consists of 50% Cabernet Franc, 30% Pinot Noir, 9% Pinot Blanc, 5%
Cab/Merlot & 6% hush hush. The wine shows aromas and flavours of black
currant and raspberries with a hint of passion fruit.
See You Here!"
