Tuesday as we taste the 2006 Estate Collection Semillon ($15.90). This is a well-balanced,
fresh, crisp wine that is perfect to enjoy on its own or with seafood. The nose
displays a slight herbal note with aromas of pineapple and apricot, followed by
flavours of nectarine, fig and honey on the palate.

Mother's Day Wines!!

"Join us this weekend as
we celebrate our Moms and all that they do for us. We'll
sample some wines that we think they would like as they relax and enjoy their
special day!
What better way to celebrate than with some bubbly, so we will
begin with the new Sumac Ridge Sparkling Rosé ($22.99). This Sparkling Rosé is a blend of 51% Pinot Noir, 30% Gamay Noir and 19%
Ehrenfelser. It's loaded with lively notes of red berries and citrus, and is
frothy, fresh and refreshing.
The 2007 Stoneboat Nebbia
($15.90) is another great choice for Mom. This is a fresh, elegant wine
with a floral, tropical fruit nose, peachy citrus flavours and a refreshing
streak of minerality. A touch of residual sugar is well-balanced by crisp
acidity.
I'm sure Mom would enjoy the 2007 Church & State Hollenbach Family
Vineyard Pinot Noir ($25.90)! This wine has a lovely nose of raspberry and ripe
apricot, complimented by flavours of bing cherry, melon and a hint of black
fruit, with a clean savoury finish.
Finally, what Mom could resist the 2007
Therapy Freud's Ego ($16.00). This is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35%
Cabernet Franc and 5% Merlot. The nose suggests black currants, raspberries,
licorice and vanilla. It's rich and full bodied with ripe berry fruit
complexity.
