"...slightly sparkling..."

"Join us beginning Tuesday as we sample the new 2009 St Hubertus Frizzante Rosé ($15.03). This Gamay Noir / Pinot Noir blend is very slightly sparkling and shows flavours of strawberries, cranberries and spice. Check out the write up on this wine in Edible Vancouver. They seem to like it!

See You Here!"

This Weekend - Special Appearance!!
Alice Walcott pouring Summerhill and Twisted Tree!!
Midweek - St. Hubertus!!

New Arrivals!!
Greetings!

We're excited to have Alice Walcott, Summerhills Representative come join us and pour some extremely yummy wines from Summerhill and Twisted Tree for you. Along with the red and white, she'll also be pouring their delectable Cipes Brut. For those that have yet to try it, think of a bottle of Dom Perignon but at a fraction of the price! Although I've only had Dom once, (unfortunately) the Cipes Brut made a very close resemblance and blew me away at what BC could do with their sparkling wine!

On a further note, many people have been coming in and asking if I am the one writing up these intricate tasting notes. If you've received our e-mail for a while, you might have noticed that Brian Ritchie's signature is no longer at the bottom of those tasting notes, but rest assured that those are still his contributions! He's just very humble and wanted to keep it a secret. I can't take credit for such beautiful penmanship! ~_^

Cheers,

"...certified organic..."

"Join us this Saturday from 2 till 5 pm as we welcome Alice Walcott representing Summerhill Estate Winery! Summerhill is a Certified Organic Vineyard using no herbicides, pesticides, or chemical fertilizers in the soil. Glacier rock dust is added to provide trace minerals. Remineralized soils are proving to produce more flavourful and healthier foods wherever they are used. In 2007, the winery achieved certified organic status in the production cellar as well.

We will begin with the Cipes Brut sparkling wine ($24.95). This traditionally made (méthode Champenoise) Brut has aromas of apple, lime, pear, almonds and grapefruit. On the palate Cipes Brut exhibits crisp acidity, a soft, creamy mousse, and a long finish.

As it is now officially Spring (I think), we will sample the 2008 Ehrenfelser ($19.95). The Ehrenfelser grape produces wines with a luxurious texture and wildly delicious layers of tropical fruit flavours and aromas.

Next up is the 2005 Merlot ($24.95). Rich aromas of ripe cherries, strawberries, and chocolate give way to blackberry and vanilla on the palate. Aged in oak barrels for 16 months, this classically balanced Merlot exhibits a velvety mouth-feel.

As a bonus, Alice will also be pouring our first taste of the new Twisted Tree Second Crossing Sauvignon Blanc ($15.90)!

See You Here
