us this weekend as we taste our way through an array of wines from Hester
Creek! Winemaker Robert Summers has crafted some very interesting wines from
this Golden Mile property.
We will begin with the 2008 Pinot Gris ($16.99).
This wine shows aromas of pear and quince, leading to smooth light flavours of
citrus and tangerine.
The 2007 Pinot Blanc ($15.99) is next. This wine has
nicely focused flavours of nectarine and green apple with a lingering delicate
finish.
The 2007 Cabernet Merlot ($15.99) is a blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot
and Cabernet Sauvignon. It showcases the Cabernet flavours of black current and
cassis with the plummy fruit of the Merlot.
The 2008 Merlot ($16.99) shows
aromas of blackberry, mulberry, plum and black cherry. On the palate, flavours
of cherry, chocolate and toffee are accented by soft tannins and a full
mouthfeel.
