"...light and fun but special..."


"Join us this weekend as we celebrate St. Valentines Day with a selection of suitable wines for the occasion. Valentines wines should be light and fun but special, and these wines all fit the bill in that regard.

We will begin with the 2001 Sumac Ridge Sparkling Pinnacle ($35.00). Slightly pink in color, this wine has a fine mousse, and aromas of fresh strawberry and biscuit. On the palate, this crisp, full bodied wine shows flavors of dried cranberry and strawberry.

Next is the 2008 8th Generation Classic Riesling ($19.90). Made from +20 year old vines, this wineoffers fruit and acidity in perfect balance. It features a fruity lemon nose, and a whisper of ripe apples on the palate. This was a Gold medal winner at both the All Canadian Wine Championships and the Okanagan Wine Festival!

The 2007 Arrowleaf Solstice Pinot Noir ($25.00) is now starting to mellow nicely. It features raspberry, strawberry, cherry and violet aromas with spicy, and smoky undertones. Just right for Valentines dinner!

Finally, we will taste the 2007 Prospect Vidal Icewine ($39.99). What better way to celebrate than with a glass of Icewine, and this one offers lush floral and spice aromas highlighted by decadent notes of apricot, tangerine and guava. It's fruity with rich honey concentration balanced with lively acidity and a deliciously persistent finish.
