Hospice Award for Quality Care

Hearthstone has been awarded the 2012 Hospice Award for Quality Care by Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois (HPNI).  HPNI's staff
has been integrated into our care giving teams and is our primary provider for hospice and palliative care.  Hearthstone is also a participant in the pilot of HPNI's innovative dementia care program for patients receiving hospice benefits.  The award will be presented during
the Hospice Annual Meeting on Tuesday, April 10, at the Onion Pub in Barrington.  Thanks to HPNI and Hearthstone for outstanding care for our patients and their families.

Message from the President

Spring has arrived earlier than expected this year but certain events occur around here whether the forsythia is in bloom or the grass is green.  One of those events is the annual dinner/auction for Hearthstone Communities.  Our theme of Jazzed About Community says a couple of things about us.  First we are excited, fired-up about what we do each day; and secondly, we do community and we do it well.  We do it for the old and for the young and for many of us in between.

We're jazzed about our community and all of you who support Hearthstone.  See you on the 28th.

His Last Week

We call the last week of Jesus' life Holy Week. These are the days beginning with his triumphal entry into Jerusalem and leading up to his crucifixion and climaxing on Easter Sunday with his resurrection from the dead.

It was stressful even before his arrest, trial and death. There were confrontations with Jewish leaders and betrayal by not so loyal disciples. He showed us what it meant to be a servant when he washed his disciples' feet in the upper room. That same evening he gave us the Lord's Supper to remember his broken body and shed blood until he returns again. He prayed that God would not require him to go to the cross, if that were possibleRead Entire Article

Masterpieces for Auction

In anticipation of the upcoming annual dinner/auction on April 28, the children of Hearthstone Early Learning Center have been busy composing "masterpieces" for auction at the event.  Our children have always been a focal element of the dinner/auction event and have benefited from the proceeds.  They are excited to be a small part of the festivities.
