New Department Leaders for Hearthstone

Two Departments were recently reorganized that now have campu-wide responsibility, Dining Services and Environmental Services. All of our food service at the Manor and the Village are now being managed by our new Director of Dining Services, Kim Stoltz.

Maintenance, housekeeping and laundry services are now combined into the new department of Environmental Services under the direction of the Director of Environmental Services, Jeff Thompson.

Dear Friends:

 

I keep a folder of encouraging cards, notes and letters from people. It's wonderful to pull that file out once in a while and read through the heart-warming thoughts and feelings people have shared with me over the years. Last week I received a letter from Todd Vieregg whose

mother recently passed away.  This letter is headed straight for the "Encouragement" folder. In it, Todd said, "My Mother very much liked living at the Manor because the staff treated her so well. I want you and every member of the Hearthstone staff who had anything to do with my Mother's almost four year residency there to know how very much I, and every member of her family, appreciate the loving, respectful, competent and dignified care that was given to her by the Hearthstone staff. Every staff member was always very cheerful and caring about my Mother."

The warmth and pride this feedback produces is priceless.

What's a Duathlon?

 

It's a race consisting of running, cycling, and running over a defined course for the purpose of raising money for a charitable cause.  This new sport, scheduled for September 23, 2012, will involve a short course (2K, 20K, 2K) and a long course (10K, 40K, 5K).  It's open to everyone so start training now.  The event is presented by KJ multisport and Hearthstone is the beneficiary of the donations.

The PowerJesus

 

At the Early Learning Center  we sing a song called "The Power." It is about the power of God as seen in Jesus Christ. The song reminds the kids that if they "look up, look down, and look all around," they can see the power of Jesus everywhere. The Bible tells us that Jesus is creator, healer, teacher of truth, feeder of the masses, faithful friend, the source of salvation and life transformer. Jesus made a huge difference to many in the Bible who came to Him and some who did not come to Him. He can make a difference in your life and mine if we will place our trust in Him. His power is enough for all we need.
