Hearthstone Nominated for Business Champion Award

Hearthstone Communities was recently nominated for the 2011 Business Champion Award sponsored by the McHenry County Economic Development Commission (MCEDC). The award is given annually to companies that have made a commitment to McHenry County and continue to grow and provide jobs and stimulate the economy of the county.  Although Hearthstone did not receive the award, the application process was an exciting one.  Terry Egan, President & CEO of Hearthstone, said that "it was a great experience being in consideration for this award with a number of wonderful companies.  While we didn't win the award, we did spread our message to a whole new group of business and industry leaders in our service area."

Dear Friends:

Within the past year we formed a relationship with Senior Services Associates.  They have assigned an Activities Coordinator to offer programming at Hearthstone Village on Thursdays for several hours.  The group, which is comprised of seniors from the Woodstock area, has more than doubled in size and now serves twenty people per week.  This is a good example of how a partnership has advanced the mission of two organizations by working together and combining resources.

Serving your community,
