Hearthstone Communities

Dear Friends:

I have been asked by a number of people where the four Prairie Home duplexes will be located on the current construction site at Seminary Avenue and Christian Way. The first duplex is occupied and the second is under construction next to the Hearthstone Early Learning Center. The third duplex will be located parallel to Rogers Apartments and will be completed by the summer of 2012. The fourth duplex will be parallel to Seminary Avenue and hopefully completed by December of 2012. After that we will most likely shift construction of new Prairie Homes to the north section of the Hearthstone campus.

Employee Fund Raising Success

The campaign to raise $500,000 to fund the expansion and renovation of the Mary and Carl Mueller Rehabilitation Center has reached out to the staff members of Hearthstone Communities. While the final tally is not complete, employees have pledged $21,000 to date! Additional community events such as Shop and Share along with nights at local restaurants will be featured for employees to participate and push the total to even greater heights.

Splash Time at Veterans

Acres

Children from Hearthstone Early Learning Center enjoy the summer heat at Veterans Acres cooling off in the splash pool. This was one of their favorite activities during a summer of swealtering heat. Other favorite field trips included the Volo Car Museum, the Corn Maze, Glo-Bowl, mini-golf and a summer cook-out with the seniors from Hearthstone Communities.

Hearthstone - Centegra Senior Fair

The Hearthstone-Centegra Senior Fair was a great success as a joint endeavor between the two McHenry County organizations. This year's event, held on August 10, 2011 at McHenry Community College, netted $16,000 in addition to providing seniors with an array of health and wellness information. Approximately, 1,200 seniors attended this year's Fair, according to Deb Rabine, Director of Marketing at Hearthstone Communities.
