Nonprofit organizations are increasingly challenged to meet the growing needs of their constituents with diminishing resources. By forming the right partnerships, nonprofits can leverage their financial resources, skills, and capacities to ensure their missions are secured. Even more importantly, successful partnerships bring together a talent pool of leaders who can more creatively address complex issues and needs. Join Debbie McKeon and the leadership of several northern Michigan nonprofits for a panel discussion focused on the details of some partnerships that have formed in our region and that have other regions looking to us as leaders in this emerging field. Specific models and examples will be discussed and shared as well as practical tips for developing and maintaining the relationships.

Designed for entry to advanced-level practitioners, volunteers, and board members.

AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps Seeking Service Proposals

Do you have projects that you've been trying to complete for a long time or a special project that you could use assistance completing? Could the energy of a team of 10-12 young adults help you complete them? AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) is a full-time, team-based national service program. They work with non-profit organizations, state and local agencies, and Native American communities to complete projects that typically last 6-8 weeks.

The NCCC is currently requesting proposals for team-based, community service projects that last approximately 6-8 weeks and focus on at least one of their five main service areas:

Natural and Other Disasters

Energy Conservation

Environmental Stewardship and Conservation

Infrastructure Improvement

Urban and Rural Development
