Scholarships Available for NorthSky Pilot Executive Coaching Program
|
Executive coaching is defined as a one-on-one confidential relationship that supports, encourages and challenges leaders to move forward and take action. For-profit leaders have been utilizing coaching as an effective method of growing their top performers and now the nonprofit sector is beginning to do the same.
Starting in January, 2012, NorthSky Nonprofit Network is offering leaders the opportunity to be part of a pilot program to determine the impact of coaching on nonprofit leaders and their organizations. This is a chance to work with an executive coach in reaching your personal and professional goals. Scholarships will be available through Rotary Charities.
The program will be led by Lucille Chrisman, a professionally trained executive coach from the Coaches Training Institute (CTI) and a member of the International Coach Federation.

Free information sessions will be held on September 20 and November 22 from noon to 1 pm. Registration is required [LINK]

It's Time for the Social Sector to Get Social
|
Last week at Dreamforce 2011, Mark Benioff, CEO of Salesforce.com, welcomed me and the 45,000 other attendees to "The Social Enterprise." It is a term Salesforce.com has recently trademarked. While it is not the Social Enterprise that we nonprofits think of, it is a change I think we need to pay attention to.
But first, what was a nonprofit consultant from a small town in Michigan doing at the largest technology conference in the world? I have been helping NorthSky adapt the Salesforce CRM Nonprofit Edition to manage contact information and project data in one place and digitally streamline workflows and business processes. Navigating today's legislative environment can be tricky for nonprofit leaders given the legal constraints placed on our role in advocacy and the importance of maintaining a balanced position with a diverse range of constituents.
