Northwestern Michigan CollegeApril 28, 2011
Noon to 1:30 p.m.
Northwestern Michigan College
University Center, room 7

NorthSky Consultant, Kevin Woods of Woods Consulting, LLC

Fee: $10

Focus group research is a useful tool for collecting in-depth information about consumer needs, perceptions, behaviors and motivations. While surveys and other "quantitative" research can help you predict behavior, focus groups can help you understand "why" people act as they do.  Focus groups can effectively be used to develop survey questions or to understand why people responded as they did to a survey.  Focus groups are NOT good tools to predict behavior. Learn the basics of conducting focus group research including how to design the sessions, develop a discussion guide, recruit participants, facilitate the sessions, and analyze the findings.
