Growing American Rubber Mark Finlay To Speak at the Richmond Hill Historical Society On Thursday, April 1, at 7:00 PM in the Richmond Hill Museum, the Richmond Hill Historical Society is pleased to present author Mark Finlay discussing his research on the Rubber Industry on the coast of Georgia. In the 1930's and 1940's experiments using alternative sources for producing rubber were carried out in Richmond Hill and Bryan County. In the Richmond Hill Museum you will find examples of the products produced using golden rod, dog fennel, black gum trees, etc. This is a relatively unknown part of the scientific and commercial history of the area. It should prove an interesting and informative evening.
We welcome you to come and learn a little more about this area you call home. The meeting is open and at no charge to members and the general public. As always, donations are appreciated.
Call the Richmond Hill Museum for more information or directions at 912-756-3697.
