Speakers:

George Smith, President & CEO,

Edmonton Space & Science Foundation/TELUS World of Science - Edmonton

Dr. Rolf Landua,

Head of Education and Outreach for the European Organization of Nuclear Research.

Dr. Landua's extensive research brought him international fame and favour as the inspiration for the creation of the novel "Angels and Demons".  The blockbuster movie of the same name, starring Tom Hanks, that put CERN - the European Organization for Nuclear Research - 'on-the-map', challenged the preconceptions that many of us have about the possibility of an 'antimatter' bomb that could decimate the world.

Engaging and witty, Dr. Rolf Landua will speak about his experiences on the ATHENA experiment, present us with facts and fiction of antimatter, and the possible practical applications for our modern world.  He will also share with us his views on the importance of science education and how he sees the world of science and education changing.

In his own words, and voicing the ambitions and vision of TELUS World of Science - Edmonton , "...we have a leading role in educational projects... this is a great platform for sharing ideas and experiences, inspire new projects to bring scientist and the public together."
