Yuri's Night
The World Space Party
Edmonton, AB -- Yuri's Night is scheduled to take flight for the 1st time at TELUS World of Science - Edmonton on April 12. TELUS World of Science is joining in the world celebration to commemorate the 1st human space flight.
What is Yuri's Night? 50 years ago on April 12, 1961, Russian Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin embarked on the historic 1st manned space flight. 20 years later on April 12, 1981, the USA launched the 1st Space Shuttle flight. Every year on April 12, Yuri's Night parties are held all around the world and now TELUS World of Science - Edmonton has come on board with our 1st Yuri's Night event.
The Flight Plan includes:
- The IMAX film Space Station
- Dawn of the Space Age Full-Dome show in the Margaret Zeidler Theatre
- Snack and cash bar
- Experience an astronaut training exercise while taking a spin on our Multi Axis Trainer
- View the night sky outdoors at the Observatory (weather permitting)
- Live Science Demonstrations
- Explore our exhibit galleries including Space Place & The Chronicles of Narnia: The Exhibition
- Live performances by:
- DJ Hondo - Electronica
- Tilo Paiz Sextet - Latin Jazz
- Doumtek - Drum & Rhythm
- Prizes and more.....
