Okay so the April showers have been washing over us here in Michigan. I know it's a little gloomy, since we are going on day 4 of grey, but I noticed something Tuesday night when I stepped out on my deck to let my dogs out to play. Nothing smells better than Spring Rain! Everything smelled and felt so clean and fresh. I stopped in my busy tracks and just took it all in and it felt amazing! Give it a try today.
Pam and I have been summoning the fairies back to our Fairy Garden the last several weeks. Looks like we will be setting up our Planting Day soon! We invite everyone to join us. We gather as a group, everyone brings a plant or a fun addition to the garden, we plant, we laugh, we celebrate and we enjoy it all season. Watch for updates on our Facebook Page. Are you a fan yet? If not, do that today so we can keep you posted on last minute events, reminders and fun sales and mini inspirations. I've actually begun my Spring Cleaning at home. I haven't made a lot of progress, but I at least got to my closet. I am trying to do something small everyday and eventually I've been told it adds up. I will convert my sloppy ways one of these days! My poor husband actually asked me if the storm that blew in Monday night hit my dresser drawers. He had no other explanation for why there would have been 4 drawers left open. :-) I guess as inspiration for myself I better leave the SPRING CLEANING SALE running for the rest of the month.  The Fairies are Coming!!!
Last year we started a new tradition here in Oxford with our Fairy Garden. We used a plot of space that the Village has allowed us borrow and we invited our friends, family and the fairies to help us make it a special place and it was wonderful! A group of us met on a Sunday afternoon, adults and kids and of course our puppy pal, Diesel. We let our imaginations soar and we designed a gorgeous garden. Everyone brought a plant, flower or a special addition to the garden. I added a bench and voila! A beautiful place that everyone is welcome to stop by and enjoy.
Good news for this year is that our space has expanded. Our parking lot restoration is complete and we have a new curb and more space to plant. I am looking for some good experienced gardening help to assist me in drawing up a plan for our new space. Are you that person or do you know that person? Let me know.
Our planting party day is going to be Sunday, May 16th from 11 am - 1 pm. Please join us!
We will be adding our fun kid's fairy craft classes back to the schedule soon. Keep an eye open for them. Here is a picture of the houses we made last year!

Our local DDA (Downtown Development Association) has been offering free business seminars (lucky us!!) and the topic last month was the 3/50 project. The founder Cinda Baxter shared the details of this great program that is geared at saving the brick and mortar businesses that our Nation is built on.
