Greetings!

I just learned about this fantastic student and hoped it would serve to motivate your child(ren) in studying Kumon.
California Third Grader Completes Both Math and Reading!

Check out this article. It talks about a 9 year old named Sansar Yogi, who is the youngest child ever in the history of Kumon North America to complete both the Reading Program (through Level L) and the Math Program (through Level O). Be sure to share the story of this inspiring youngster with your children! His older sister, aged 12; also a dual Program Completer, encouraged and helped him in his efforts. Wow!
Introducing Kumon Steeplechase Spirit Decals for your car

You know how you see the spirit decals on cars showing the activities the children of that family are in? I think it's time to recognize our own students and have personalized decals spirit decalacknowledging their commitment and efforts in Kumon. We have designed a sticker for our Kumon Steeplechase students and will place an order on MONDAY, AUGUST 31. The cost is just $10 per sticker and there is no limit on how many you may order. Prepayment is required. Please simply talk with our Reception personnel. Make sure your child gets his or her own personalized sticker! Also note--you can get your own name on your sticker as well! You're part of the Kumon team, too!

Class days to change when school starts

School will resume on August 24. Effective that week, we will drop Wednesdays but add Thursdays to our schedule. Our schedule will thus be Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:30 to 7:30 and Saturdays from 9 to 2. I think this revised schedule will help give a breather between our two weeknight days, plus give Wednesdays off for those who prefer going to midweek religious services. Our office hours will be on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30 to 7:30 for those who wish to pick up work, take Placement or Achievement Tests, modify assignments, etc.
The Importance of Home Grading and Home Correcting.

nl 4Remember that home grading is the engine that super charges your child's progress. Because we require home grading, our students' progress dramatically outpaces that of all other Kumon Centers in our area.
At Feedback, I do spot check all children's homework to ensure there are no issues. Occasionally you will see your child is scheduled for corrections only at the Center: that is to make sure that all homework is corrected at the standard we seek so your child's progress will be smooth. That's when most of the real learning takes place. Always remember, we are a team: it's the child, it's the Instructor, it's the parents. One does not work without the other. Feel free to ask me if you have any concerns. I am flexibly available outside class hours to visit with you about your child. Every student is special to me and I am happy to share my vision, observations, and concerns about your child with you.
Thank you for all you do for your child. I look forward to continuing to work with you!

Sincerely,
