Donations!
Two opportunities to give this Christmas season.  
 
1.  Bring in an unwrapped gift for kids between 1 and 17 years old for House of Zion's annual Christmas Program.  Gifts should be under $7.00 and not require batteries as they will not have the money to replace them.  For more information on the program please ask me or write to zionmin1@yahoo.com or call 503-981-8042.  
 
2. The SH youth are encouraged to bring in a donation to help us purchase an animal from the "Good Gifts" catalogue for someone in need.  Bring your donation to SH night from now until end of Dec.  We are currently at $50.  Enough to buy a goat or a pig and a duck, but not for a cow ($500).  More information about this program is available at the church.  Just pick up a "Good Gifts" catalogue.
Youth Christmas Parties!
 
               Senior High
The SH Christmas Party will be on Sunday, Dec. 13th from 6-8 PM. 
            
             Junior High
The JH Christmas Party will be on Wednesday, Dec. 9th from 6-7:45 PM.
 
Both parties will be a "White Elephant" gift exchange.  So, everyone needs to bring a wrapped gift valued at under $10.  This can be a joke gift or even something laying around the house.  Please don't bring anything inappropriate.  We will also have a time for some games.
Junior High Lock-In (January)
 
  Coming up on Friday, January 29th will be the annual JH Lock-In with other local Lutheran churches.  This year it will be at Central Lutheran Church in Portland.  It will probably go from 8 PM until 8 AM the next day.  We will do Bible Study, play lots of games, sing some songs, play broomball at Lloyd Center and a lot more!  This is a great event to bring lots of friends to.  Much more info. coming soon.  Cost will probably be $10 per person (broomball costs).  It will be a ton of fun!  Get the date on your calendar now, you don't want to miss. 
Sunday School Christmas Program
 
 
    The annual Sunday School Christmas Program is fast approaching.  We will have a practice on Saturday, December 12th from 9-11 AM.  The program will take place at both services (8:45 and 11:00) on the 13th.  We encourage all age youth to participate this year in the program. 
SH Snow Retreat
 
  The date is Friday, Jan. 22nd - Sunday, Jan. 24th.  We will meet at church by 4 PM on Friday. Cost is going to be $5. You need to sign up and turn in $5 by Sun. Jan. 10th.  We need to have an exact count for rides.  Adults going must know how to drive in the snow and have access to a car with snow tires or chains. We may have limited space depending on drivers, so sign up w/ money and form early. We will be staying in Sunriver and going up to Bachelor for skiing, boarding, and sledding.  If others want, a 2nd group can stay in Sunriver for sledding, shopping, ice skating, snowball fights, whatever. The cost of lift tickets is on your own as well as rentals.  A teen lift ticket is $59 and there are other options, just ask me.  Don't let the cost of lift tickets discourage you from going on the trip.  There are plenty of things to do for reasonable prices if you don't ski.  If you need rentals, ask me or go to www.mtbachelor.com for info.  Look for a letter soon.
