February Review

  Wow, what an incredibly busy month!  We had many events. I also attended the annual Youth Worker Extravaganza in New Orleans with 400+ ELCA youth leaders.  We had our JH sexuality study, Valentine's Dinner fundraiser, Shrove Tuesday, Souper Bowl Sunday fundraiser, and SH Snow Trip.  At the Vday dinner we raised over $1100!  Our goal was $800 - $1000.  The snow trip was incredible as we had 15 youth, beautiful weather, and did prayer around the cross in the 20 degree weather.  Shrove Tuesday had about 60 - 70 people and went well.  A really good month, but very busy.
Kid's Night Out
 
There will be a Kid's Night Out on Sunday, March 8th from 5 PM until 6 PM.  We will be playing some fun games, talking about what Lent is and more!  Be sure to come join the fun and bring your friends. 
 
Next month we will have our annual Easter Egg Hunt on April 12th and then the week after we will have a special Kid's Night Out on the 19th.  We will play some spring/Easter themed games and have a special craft for all to enjoy as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus.
National Gathering Parent Meeting
 
  There will be a very important meeting for parents only on Sunday, March 15th at 5:30 PM.  It will only be 30 minutes, but we will be talking about some very important things for the trip.  We hope to have at least 1 parent from each family come to the meeting.  We will then have a youth only meeting in April as well.  We are doing very well with our fundraising so far with 2 big ones coming up!
 
JH Synod Rally in Tigard
 
  Coming up Saturday April 25th-Sunday, April 26th is the annual JH Rally!  The rally goes from 10 AM Saturday until after worship on Sunday (around Noon).  We will be going to Christ the King in Tigard.    More  info. will be sent out.  We need everyone to register by Sunday, March 29th. Cost is just $25.  Don't miss this great event!

Valentine's Dinner Review
 
  We had a very successful Valentine's Dinner. We had over 50 guests and raised over $1100!  The evening went very well and was enjoyed by all those serving and being served.  Thanks everyone that helped.  We are getting closer to our goal for our trip and look forward to our next big fundraiser the Easter Breakfast which will be matched by Thrivent. 
Mad Props
 
If you have funny clothes, hats, glasses, wigs, etc. that you don't use anymore, please let Brian know.  We want to collect some props for skits, etc. that we do with the youth.  Please contact Brian.
Garage Sale
 
The SH youth are doing a sale in May.  Right now it is planned for the 30th.  We are not accepting donations until May, but start thinking about what you may want to donate.  Thanks!  
Camp Lutherwood
 
Sign up for camp through www.lutherwood.org now.  Our group is going July 5th-10th.  You can sign up online or print off the forms and send them to Lutherwood.  This is a great trip for the youth and an important part of Confirmation.  More details are in the mail.
