Dear Village Member,
Lincoln Park Village is thriving. So much has been done by so many to bring the Village this far. As the new president of Lincoln Park Village I am excited and honored to follow in the footsteps of our first two presidents Michael Spock, and Katherine Zartman. To recognize their contribution, in October, two hickory trees standing side by side in an area of Lincoln Park called Grandma's Garden were designated in their honor through the Chicago Park District.
 | | Current Village Board President Ruth Ann Watkins presents the dedication of their trees to Past Board Presidents Kathy Zartman and Michael Spock | We are also grateful to Harriet NewDelman and Michael Kurzman who completed terms on the board and we welcome new board members Sally Edelsberg, Jack Hartray, Ed Rose, Mary Ann Schwartz and Dian Weddle.
A recent and major development for our Village was the expansion of our service area through the merger with LakeView Village, three of whose board members now serve on the Village board. On November 3rd the board members, staff and volunteers took a "look and listen" trolley tour of our expanded service area, focusing primarily on Lake View and also the west part of our community. This is part of ongoing efforts to build the Village's knowledge bank about all things relevant to all our members.
 | Betty Dayron, Jack Hartray and others on the Trolley Tour.
| As we move forward, our various committees continue their fine work: meeting service requests through dedicated, talented volunteers, vetted service providers, office team volunteers and remarkable staff, and the creation of exciting programs based on members' interests by our outstanding program committee.
But there is much more to do. I thank you for your support of the Village and invite you to continue to work together to shape the future of Lincoln Park Village and I pledge to do my part as your president.
Ruth Ann Watkins Lincoln Park Village Board President
