RIVERGATE MALL ENTRANCE...4 PM FRIDAY MAY 8, 2009

 

DRUNK? DRUGGED?  No, just too DOG tired to walk to his camp behind the mall. Lee worked all day, all week, after sleeping in his cardboard shelter in the woods.  His ride from work meets him at the Rivergate Mall entrance on Gallatin Road, a Top 5 highest traffic count interesection in Nashville, TN.  He knew he could rest awhile there, that nobody would even notice him...Homeless believe they become invisible...because thousands walk and drive right by them, yet never see them.  Dying slowly, daily, in misery, wanting to survive, few with sound minds, unable to function in society.  Homelessness is no longer just downtown, but 100 live in Madison now, another 150 in Rivergate.

 

We take iced cold bottled water to these homeless in the suburbs in the summer heat, but not unless somebody donates the water and fuel.  Our pleas for bottled water from Churches to distribute to these Homeless in rural areas fell on deaf ears in July 2006, so dozens of hard working, but pitiful poor homeless people died from lack of water...even living in a hidden camp within 200 yards of a busy Mall, like Rivergate Mall...Long Hollow Baptist Church stepped up in 2007 with over 5,000 bottles of life saving water...we need a trailer truck load this year, with a brutal hot summer looming.  We need cash for water, vehicles, fuel and volunteers who care to help us deliver it.

 

Whatever you feel led to collect and donate, we will distribute it where they live!
