Girl Talk!

Pelvic Floor Institute opening in Boston.  Friend or Foe?  Hmmm, this looks like it is all about women getting procedures done, not educating women but training doctors.  Ladies, be your own advocate, educate yourself, surgery should always be a last resort.

For laughs, Whoopi Goldberg on peeing in your pants! Hysterical!

WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH LESLIE HOWARD

Hi All,

TO THE LADIES OF THE CENTRAL VALLEY, HOPE TO SEE YOU THIS SUNDAY, JUNE 6
FOR THE CLOTHING SWAP AT NOON
GOOD FOR YOUR WALLET, GOOD FOR THE PLANET.

On another note, following the path of a yogi or yogini means leading a life of non violence, non harm and truthfulness.  I know many of you are just sick about what is happening in the Gulf of Mexico.  I am outraged.  But when i examine my feelings with truthfulness, i see that i am part of the harm being done to our coast.  Here are some random thoughts on the BP oil disaster (it is not a spill).

i am complicit in this TRAGEDY.  We all are.  We are too dependent on oil.
Every time i get in my car, every plastic bag i use, every plastic water bottle i drink from makes me part of this.  Now i know most of us can't cut petroleum out of our lives today but we can recognize that we are a part of all of this and make a decision to decrease our consumption.

Stop driving one day a week, car pool, take public transit.  Ride a bike. Take the pledge that you will never accept another plastic bag.  Walk. Take one less plane trip a year. Never drink from another plastic bottle. Buy organic or grow your own, and make a pledge to only buy local. i know there are little things, but if we all started doing them, it would make a difference.

Once you've done all of that, pick up a pen and paper and write a letter.

Pen a note to your reps and any other reps you can think of and tell them if they want to get re-elected, they better start talking about renewable energy. Point out the coal mining disaster of last month, the oil rig disaster we are currently dealing with, and the ones that are sure to come in the weeks and months ahead, and then ask them how many people have been killed by windmills and solar panels. Put them on notice and let them know you are paying attention, because frankly, an energy future that looks like the one we have presently, is no future at all.  Click here to tell the president to stop off shore drilling.  Sorry to RANT!!!

Please join me in some of my workshops in the Bay Area (Oakland, Benicia, Modesto) or if you know someone in Chicago that might be interested, please forward this email. Later in the summer i will be heading to Miami and South Carolina to teach. The Labor Day weekend in Northern California is set, the flier is now posted on my site.

Be well, Leslie
