Greetings!
© Dewitt | Dreamstime.com Sheets have many more uses than just to cover your mattress!
This newsletter is a little different from most that I have written, and let me explain why.
Yesterday as I went to my bathroom closet, which is where I keep my bedsheets, I noticed that the pile of mismatched items was growing. I thought to myself, surely there must be something I can use these for.
I started scouring the Internet for ideas and came up with a slew of them, so I decided to do a newsletter all about sheets!
The neat thing is this: You can pick up beautiful patterned sheets at yard sales and thrift stores for almost nothing!
I hope you enjoy these ideas. If you have any that you would like to share with me, email me! |

Hi Molly Members,
My August Money Saving Digest is now available for download on your member pages. You'll love this issue with focuses on "storing summer's bounty". You can read all about it HERE. I'm having a bit of trouble with my August members freebie page, but I'm hoping it will be up by the time you read this.
I've also added some more goodies to the main Member's Resource Page. You'll find a list of groceries typically on sale each month as well as a listing of frugal travel related sites. Don't forget to check this page frequently. Remember, this page is your one-stop-shop for frugal resources. (And I'll keep adding to it regularly!)

Hey, I Can Make That!
| Bedsheets to Curtains
partlyopen_lg.jpg)
@CraftstylishI have some very odd but beautifully designed sheets that I picked up last year at a yard sale for a dime (seriously, they only cost me ten cents for a brand-new pack).
I found them in the closet this weekend. Since I had just repainted my bedroom, I was looking for a new set of curtains. It did not dawn on me until I saw this post from Craftstylish to use those sheets as curtains!
Now my bedroom has this gorgeous deep-brown look (coming on the blog this week!), with beautiful blue walls.

In the Kitchen
| Caribbean Jerk Chicken
 @Jennifer Sikora
If you need a super-easy, quick meal, try this one on for size!
Have you ever purchased any of those marinades in a bottle made by Lawry's? It is delicious.
I had a huge pack of chicken tenderloins that I needed to use, so I
decided to buy a bottle-- Kroger had it on sale for $1, and my husband has been wanting me to try my hand at making some Caribbean jerk
chicken-- and just give it a shot.
This stuff was out of this world! It had just enough heat to make it
spicy, but the flavor combination in this marinade was just delicious.
It was a little spicy, a little sweet, a little sour--all the flavors
just worked together wonderfully!
Basically all you do is thaw your chicken, pour this stuff over your meat and let it sit in the refrigerator for a few hours marinating. Then you cook your meat however you want. You can grill it, fry it, bake it, put it in the slow cooker--the possibilities are endless!
We decided to grill our chicken.
Since
the pieces were tenderloins, we had to really watch them closely so
that they did not cook too fast and burn or get really dry. Hope you enjoy this tidbit!
