In the Kitchen
| This week as I was looking for some dessert ideas I got a craving for strawberries. One of my favorite desserts has always been Strawberry
Shortcake but that gel in the packs at the grocery store is THE nastiest
stuff on the planet...trust me!
Anyway, a quick internet search showed me how to make my strawberries create their own yummy juice. It is so simple that a two-year-old
could do it. Now granted, I did not make the shortcake from scratch. I
used up what I already had at the house, but the next time I make them, I
will definitely make my own. Without further ado, here
is my scrumptious Strawberry Shortcake:
Strawberry Shortcake
Ingredients 1 pint of strawberries, hulled and coarsely chopped 1/4 cup sugar 1 package of shortcakes 1 tub of whipped topping
Take strawberries and sugar and dump in a bowl. Mash with a potato
masher until juices begin to flow. Allow to rest on the counter for 1
hour. Separate mixture between shortcakes and top with whipped topping.
When you are done, they will look this delicious!
