Greetings!
© jatakuck | http://www.sxc.hu
The wind is howling around the corner
of my house as I write this newsletter. The weatherman is calling
this a "monster" storm that is affecting two thirds of the United
States. Winter is here!
Personally, what I like to do best when
it snows is curl up with a warm blanket, a good book, quiet music,
and occasionally look out the window at the swirling flakes. Usually
I get inspired to make a yummy pot of soup and a loaf of homemade
bread. The kids, however, have other ideas. Thank goodness their Dad
enjoys the chilly great outdoors as much as they do.
Whether you're the curl-up-inside
type, or prefer to bundle-up-and-play-in-the-snow type, I hope you'll
enjoy the "snow much fun" ideas in this newsletter. Be sure to
check our Econobusters
website for bread
and soup recipes . . . just click on the "from my kitchen"
category in the right sidebar.
Merry CHRISTmas,
Molly

Recipe of the Week Snow Ice Cream
As a little girl, I would get so excited when I looked outside and saw the snow falling. I just knew what would come next. Momma would get the big silver pan and go outside and get fresh fallen snow, and then come inside and make a huge pan of snow ice cream! It is THE best tasting stuff in the whole world!
Ingredients
1 gallon snow
1 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 cups milk
Directions
When it starts to snow, place a large, clean bowl outside to collect
the flakes. When full, stir in sugar and vanilla to taste, then stir in
just enough milk for the desired consistency. Serve at once.
Enjoy!
