Red Oak Park

We are so proud of our work at Red Oak Park at 2637 Valmont in Boulder. What used to be trailer homes is now an affordable housing community with 59 new single family, duplex and triplex rental homes in a beautiful neighborhood setting. The project was selected by the American Institute of Architects to be showcased in an exhibition on sustainable architecture at Denver International Airport from February - June. DIA has named 2012 the "Year of Design" for its temporary exhibitions program. The exhibition will showcase Colorado's world-class architects, whose innovation supports our quality of life, the built environment, and sustainable design practices. It will appear in Charles Ansbacher Hall (walkway to A gates). More than 54 million passengers travel through DIA per year (1 million+/week!). This exhibit is an incredible opportunity to showcase our profession. This honor is the culmination of our collaboration with Boulder Housing Partners on the project. We were glad to provide a $1,000 gift to the BHP Foundation, a worthwhile organization that makes our community a better, stronger place.

Great Beer | New Digs

Avery Brewing Company is on a roll. Last year, the Boulder brewer of popular craft beers like Avery IPA and Maharaja Imperial IPA found itself in the strange position of having to pull out of several state markets - because it couldn't keep up with unrelenting demand. Coburn is proud to be helping Avery create a new brewery that will enable it to accommodate a bigger brewhouse, more fermenters, and everything it needs to produce and distribute more craft beer to customers nationwide.

Coburn CU Design Interns Create a Great Place

Working with our four CU Environmental Design students, Coburn transformed an unbuilt portion of Steel Yards into a state of the art office space, with two large offices, a generous conference room, open ceiling, and mountain views. It was refreshing to see the students' approach. We'd like to give a shout out to Mile High Banks for working with us on this unique education opportunity!
Sunshine Canyon Transformation

A casualty of the 2010 Fourmile Canyon fire, this residence in Sunshine Canyon was left with a destroyed entry and extensive interior smoke damage. Coburn applied an integrated approach to address many issues - like assessing damages to the original building, assisting the owner in the insurance settlement, and charting a course to rebuild. In the reconstruction effort, Coburn worked with the owner and Interior Designer Garry Mertins to accomplish a comprehensive update inside and out.

Considering

Water

Water costs here in Boulder and around the country are on the rise. The average American uses approx. 127,000 gallons of water each year. But home water consumption can be reduced by as much as 30% with water-friendly fixtures such as showers and toilets. We liked Jeston Green blog, which illustrates how simple steps make a huge difference.
